Presented by Erin Ivie and Carol Johnson
You're invited to become a QPR Gatekeeper at our first HOPE Hour. Enjoy signature SURO mocktails and light apps served at this suicide prevention class.
WHAT: Question, Persuade and Refer (QPR), an award-winning, evidenced based, early-intervention approach to suicide prevention. This educational program is designed to teach lay and "gatekeepers" the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond. We will cover the background of QPR, go over local data and teach the three main components of the program. We will also have a Q and A period at the end and be happy to stay after the training to talk with any individuals.
WHO: This event is for adults, parents, co-workers, friends, neighbors and youth ages 16 and up. We encourage you to register as a small group so that you can be seated together. Registration will prompt you to register everyone in your party, up to 4 people max.
Individual seats, with 6 feet physical distancing, will also be available.
There is a 20 person limit for the entire event.
WHY: Suicide prevention is for everyone. We can all learn to save lives through this training. Data proves that this training works and can make a difference in someone's life.
